November in San Francisco means layers. Layers on layers on layers. This little slip by Free People is easy to wear over jeans or a skirt. Thigh highs with boots and I’m good to go. The good thing about this top is, you can wear it by itself, or wear it with layers on top to make it look more like a dress or a skirt.

My friend reminded me today that we have so many of the same articles of clothing in both of our closets, but we wear them in completely different ways. I guess I would agree with her that I do have a “grungier” look thank her, but it’s only because I love vintage so much. I always try to add at least 1 element of vintage into an outfit just to add my own uniqueness to it. Who wants to fit in when you can stand out? Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

FP Go Vegan

So here we go with the Free People Go Vegan Campaign. They’ve recently released a ton of new products on their site and in store made out of Vegan leather instead of real leather. I think this is amazing because 1. it’s ethically a better alternative and 2. it’s definitely more affordable than real leather. If you love the leather look, but don’t actually like the concept of leather (or price), than check out Free People’s new #FPGoVegan Campaign. Tons of looks inspired by bloggers (me included).

Here I’m wearing the Vegan Metallic Motorcycle Jacket in the Bronze Metallic Color, paired with a black tank and skinny jeans. A black hat with some brown boots to balance out the look. To get my look, see below!

Festival Style: Spell Playsuit

Spell & the Gypsy Collective has made dressing for festivals simple with their printed playsuits. I especially love the tie tassels at the waist, made for more or less cinching at the waist. Also, the sides of the shorts have adjustable buttons so you can decide just how much leg you want to show ;). Shown here in the tribal print, it also comes in a floral print available on their website.

So I recently took a road trip with my mom to celebrate her birthday. She was always an adventurer, something I think we have in common.

One of my favorite Polaroids of her is one taken at the Hoover Dam over 3 decades ago. I tried to recreate the photo, and although it’s slightly off…. it is amazing to be sitting in the same place she was, only 30 years prior.

She has always been a huge inspiration for me. With her steady patience, love, and understanding, not only has she listened to me and shared her advice, but she has always reminded me to be true to myself, my values, and my dreams. I love you Mom, thank you for always being there for me. Happy birthday!

The Panel Slip

More and more, has become more acceptable to wear short, loose dresses called “slips.” Those loose tunic top dresses that make you wonder, “Is she or is she not wearing shorts underneath that?” My advice is that if you are wearing something considerably loose and short, do not wear a high heel and you are fine. Wear boots or sandals with a slip and you’re good. But if you feel like wearing high heels, then wear shorts under or else everyone will see your ass. :)

This Gardens of Gardenia Slip by Free People is loose enough to be comfortable, but is lined with flowers on its 3 front panels to form some shape around your figure. Probably my favorite part about it is the contrast of light and dark! I’ll be wearing a lot more slips in the near future now that the weather is warming up in San Francisco

Fall Means Fringe

Fall means fringe. The Dreamweaver Bag by Spell Designs is the fringe bag of my/your dreams. The bone and wood beads elaborately adorn this soft leather bag, bordered with fringe to make it the ultimate tribal crossbody bag.  I paired it here with a flow-y embroidered chiffon top, that has 2 slits in the front.

I feel like a bird in this lace kaftan crop, and I love it. Appeal to your free spirit with some Jen’s Pirate Booty. I wear this lovely ‘Barcelona Crop Kaftan’ over a swimsuit or even over a pair of jeans when to go out. Who says crochet lace has to only be over swimsuits in the summer? Jen’s Pirate Booty is changing the game with ton’s of gypsy-like tops, kaftans, skirts, dresses and more. Feed your inner gypsy, check out their site here: www.Jenspiratebooty.com.
