Point Reyes Preserve

Posted on: August 20, 2016

I called my friend Haley and asked her if she wanted to go on a spontaneous road trip with me.  Without hesitation she obliged. We had no fixed plans, no itinerary, no set time when to arrive or leave. We had a place to stay, and a car, but the only thing we had was each other-as cheesy as it may sound.

As much as I wanted to make a plan, I realized what I really needed was a roadtrip with no itinerary- no stress. I don’t think there’s anything that connects people more than traveling together. It was quite wonderful to explore a new place with a friend, especially when one of those places is a remote area of Northern California.

Point Reyes National Seashore goes on for miles- and I mean MILES. There’s not too many clear signs, and no cell service. Lots of lovely wildlife to admire- and we went right before sunset. We drove until the gas meter read EMPTY and we laughed about every sketchy scenario we could have possibly encountered. Oddly, I had never felt so free and relaxed to be in such a remote location. The seashore that rolled along for miles had enormous waves which crashed down, beautiful country roads, rolling hills, and 2 ladies completely lost.

Somewhere between lost and found. It was everything.

For The Love Of Travel: Paso Robles Wine Edition

Posted on: July 28, 2016

For the Love of Travel is an amazing travel group started by my friend Tara that plans out weekend getaways with the travel group. What could be better than a weekend away in Paso Robles Wine Tasting?

Nothing is right. It was one of the best weekends I have had in a long time and the best part was meeting new friends. The weekender trips have the itinerary including meals planned out for the group, so it made getting to connect with one another that much more fun. The convenience of also having everything planned out was a huge plus. I’ve added a video from the weekend, xoxo:

Light My Fire

Posted on: March 8, 2016

With an intent to stay true to myself, I choose to post outfits of inspiration that are not found at retail stores. I love 70s style, late 60’s and find that I am constantly dressing in that style. Usually thrifted, sometimes found on ebay, I just want to remind ya’ll that you don’t need to spend a million dollars on an outfit and that brands do make beautiful clothes but sometimes your best outfits can be found 2nd hand.

Keep a lookout on my recommendations for flea markets in the LA area next week, can’t wait to share my favorite spots with you <3

Without a doubt, the one thing that can bring people together is music. No matter their age, background,  income level, sexual preference; the one thing that can definitely connect us all together is music. It has been a huge part of my life, especially seeing live shows in LA given the number of artists who travel to this town to perform. As a teenager, it was a huge privilege to go to shows and it was something I never took for granted. I remember the first rock concert I ever attended. It was at the Wiltern to see the Used (with opener Saosin- Yes, I was that girl, weren’t we all?).

Since then? Nothing’s changed. I love going to shows so much because you get to actually hear and feel the music live, not to mention, be with others who love the same music as well. It’s the whole sensory package, to be with the crowd, to hear the music live and not just a played back audio file. It’s a beautiful thing to be in a room full of people singing the same song, it’s magic.

That being said, Red Bull’s 30 Day’s in LA brings 30 nights of music to different venues all across Los Angeles. Hand’s down one of the coolest things Red Bull has done in LA has to be this. It’s a huge ode to one of the music capitals of the world and it’s one of the coolest ways to bring people together and introduce them to new music. Sylvan Esso killed it, and Race Banyon is on my favorites list after he played a killer set before Sylvan Esso.
